FLORAL MAN began awkwardly. THE FAST LANE was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, SILVER DRAGON was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1000 Metres, TOAST FOR TROPHY commenced to over-race and for some distance was checked away from the heels of QUIET CONFIDENCE. When awkwardly placed close to the heels of QUIET CONFIDENCE, TOAST FOR TROPHY shifted in, resulting in JOLLY GOOD CHAMP being unbalanced when crowded for room. COUNTRY CHARM, which was following JOLLY GOOD CHAMP, was steadied away from the heels of that horse in consequence. NOBLE SAIL, which was following TOAST FOR TROPHY, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse and in doing so made contact with TWIN TURBO, causing both horses to become unbalanced. For some distance approaching and passing the 600 Metres, TOAST FOR TROPHY, which was proving difficult to settle, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of QUIET CONFIDENCE. Then rounding the Home Turn, TOAST FOR TROPHY became unbalanced when again awkwardly placed close to the heels of QUIET CONFIDENCE and in doing so shifted out and bumped DREAMS MAKER on a number of occasions, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Near the 350 Metres, THE FAST LANE was shifted out away from the heels of SILVER DRAGON which shifted out slightly. COUNTRY CHARM had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 300 Metres. Near the 100 Metres, COUNTRY CHARM was steadied away from the heels of FLORAL MAN (U Rispoli) which shifted in to obtain clear running. U Rispoli was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. O Doleuze (TWIN TURBO) was fined $2,000 for raising his whip arm above shoulder height on a number of occasions in the Straight. Throughout the race, DREAMS MAKER travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of HOT ASSET after the race did not show any significant findings. HOT ASSET, SHAREMA FEELING and SILVER DRAGON were sent for sampling. <27/2/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> HOT ASSET, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. HOT ASSET was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A T Millard this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, HOT ASSET will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
