TELECOM SUPREMO began awkwardly, shifted in and in doing so made contact with the hindquarters of MR SPEEDY which became unbalanced. Near the 700 Metres, JADE PINS shifted out abruptly when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HEALTHY CONTENDER. GREEN GLORY, which was racing outside JADE PINS, was hampered as a consequence. When questioned, M Guyon stated that he had been instructed to ride GREEN GLORY in 5th or 6th position if possible. He said despite being ridden along in the early stages GREEN GLORY did not show any early speed and after this did not travel well. He said he rode GREEN GLORY along rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, however, GREEN GLORY did not respond to his riding. He said for this reason he did not ride the horse out over the concluding stages. M Guyon was advised that his explanation in respect of GREEN GLORY’s disappointing performance today would be reported. He was also advised that wherever possible he should ride his mounts out to the end of the race at least hands and heels. A veterinary inspection of GREEN GLORY after the race did not show any significant findings. KING GALILEO, KUNG HEI FAT CHOI and DANESOUTH were sent for sampling.
