FAY FAY was slow to begin. From the outside barriers, EASY WINNER and KING OF SCOTS were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 1200 Metres, HOT SHOT commenced to over-race and shifted in when being checked away from the heels of DRAGON FIGHTER. This resulted in ALGARVE, which was racing inside of HOT SHOT, being crowded for room. HOT SHOT continued to prove difficult to settle following this incident. Near the 900 Metres, FAY FAY and BEST CITY bumped on a number of occasions as a result of FAY FAY shifting out. After this, BEST CITY travelled wide and without cover. After the 600 Metres, SEMOS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOARING DRAGON which itself was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FAY FAY. SEMOS had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 300 Metres, ZAIDAN and TREASURE GOLD bumped as ZAIDAN shifted to the outside of BEST CITY into clear running. After the 200 Metres, DRAGON FIGHTER got its head on the side and shifted out. Throughout the race, KING OF REASON travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of KING OF REASON after the race did not show any significant findings. FAY FAY and DRAGON FIGHTER were sent for sampling. <21/10/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that ALGARVE was lame in the left front leg on the day after racing. Before being allowed to race again, ALGARVE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
