VICTORY IDE SAY was checked on jumping when crowded for room between REGENCY WINNER and GIVE WELL which got its head on the side and shifted out. Approaching the 250 Metres, NORDIC STAR was steadied when crowded for room between REGENCY WINNER and NOBLE DELUXE (Apprentice T H So) which shifted out. Apprentice So was advised to exercise care. Throughout the race, REGENCY WINNER travelled wide and without cover. The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in whilst they considered if MAJESTIC HEART had been afforded a fair start. Evidence was taken from Jockey C K Tong, Trainer Y S Tsui and the Starter, Mr T McGovern. After viewing the official videos, it was ascertained that just prior to the start being effected, MAJESTIC HEART, which was being assisted by a starting gate handler, became very fractious and turned its head towards the inside stall. MAJESTIC HEART then stood flat-footed as the start was effected, lost a considerable amount of ground and took no active part in the race. As the Stewards formed the view that MAJESTIC HEART had caused its own difficulties at the start and its inability to begin with the field had not been caused by the assistance of the starting gate handler, it had been afforded a fair start and as such was deemed to be a runner. Mr Tsui was advised that the Stewards will refuse the entry of MAJESTIC HEART to provide him an opportunity to consult with the horse’s owner in relation to its immediate racing future in Hong Kong. REGENCY WINNER, EXCEPTIONAL ART and ARION OF CHIU TON were sent for sampling.
