SUPER GALILEO was crowded for room at the start between STAR OF CHIU TON and ASMODAI, both of which shifted ground. A short distance later, SUPER GALILEO became unbalanced when again crowded for room between STAR OF CHIU TON and ASMODAI which shifted out slightly. LEGEND LOVERS was steadied when crowded for room shortly after the start between SUNNY SMILES and GORGEOUS RULER which shifted out. ASMODAI and SUPER GALILEO were held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. Passing the 300 Metres, EPATANT got its head on the side and lay in under pressure and in doing so made contact with GORGEOUS RULER which became unbalanced. For the majority of the race, SUNNY SMILES travelled wide and without cover. D Whyte reported that the performance of DANESOUTH could be attributed to the fact that considerable use had to be made of the horse in the early stages to obtain a forward position from its wide barrier. A veterinary inspection of SUPER GALILEO and DANESOUTH after the race did not show any significant findings. AMBITIOUS OWNER, HAPPY EAGLE and GORGEOUS RULER were sent for sampling.
