SPACE RACE was withdrawn on 10.6.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right cheek and mouth injury) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PERFECT JOY (M Du Plessis). Before being allowed to race again, SPACE RACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FAIR NAVIGATOR proved difficult to load. As FAIR NAVIGATOR had performed in a similar manner previously, the horse will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial before being allowed to race again. After being fractious in the barriers, CLASSIC AWARDS was slow to begin. Before being allowed to race again, CLASSIC AWARDS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After being loaded, LAGO EXPRESS became fractious and then began awkwardly. Before being allowed to race again, LAGO EXPRESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. DIAMOND KNIGHT was crowded for room at the start between FAIR NAVIGATOR and XI YING MEN, both of which shifted ground. Near the 900 Metres, BEAR HERO raced in restricted room between MING HOI GLORY and EAGLE REGIMENT which shifted out. Near the 200 Metres, OCEAN WIDE was shifted in away from the heels of LAGO EXPRESS. After the 200 Metres, EAGLE REGIMENT got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. Y T Cheng (CLASSIC AWARDS) was warned in respect of the amount of whip used on the horse which was out of contention. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FAIR NAVIGATOR had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of MING HOI GLORY after the race did not show any significant findings. BEAR HERO and EAGLE REGIMENT were sent for sampling.
