OTTIMO was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, OTTIMO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. ROYAL KNIGHT began awkwardly. From a wide barrier, EURO SWIFTLY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, VIVA FIGHTER raced tight between ROYAL PUMPKIN and GOOD GAINS which shifted out after leaning on the outside of its barrier stall. In this incident, VIVA FIGHTER bumped ROYAL PUMPKIN which became unbalanced. When being restrained for some distance after the 1200 Metres, GOOD GAINS proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. Approaching the 1000 Metres, ROYAL KNIGHT got its head up on a number of occasions and proved difficult to settle. Near the 900 Metres, THE UNTOUCHABLELAD was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 250 Metres, EURO SWIFTLY was checked and shifted to the outside of GOOD GAINS when disappointed for running inside that horse. At the 200 Metres, OTTIMO, which was laying in, was steadied away from the heels of AMITYSHIP. Over the concluding stages, ROYAL PUMPKIN and THE UNTOUCHABLE LAD raced tight. A veterinary inspection of EURO SWIFTLY after the race did not show any significant findings. THE UNTOUCHABLELAD and ROYAL PUMPKIN were sent for sampling.
