Whilst in the saddling stalls, it was noted that TELECOM GOGO had lost its left front plate. This plate was refitted. TELECOM GOGO was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. TELECOM GOGO was slow to begin. Near the 1100 Metres, SHIFACHI TRADITION was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KING OF SCOTS which was steadied to obtain cover behind ALL TIME HIGH. GIVE WELL had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 100 Metres, SPINNAKER was steadied when disappointed for running between WINNING EDGE and WINNING FELLOWSHIP which shifted in. Because of this, SPINNAKER was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Throughout the race, ALL TIME HIGH travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SHIFACHI TRADITION after the race did not show any significant findings. ROYAL PUMPKIN and WINNING FELLOWSHIP were sent for sampling.
