PACHINKO was slow to begin. MI REILLY, which was fractious in its stall and was being assisted by an attendant when the start was effected, was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, ESPERANZA was hampered and carried wider and back by HAPPY CAGA which when giving ground hung out. The performance of HAPPY CAGA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, HAPPY CAGA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. For a short distance after straightening, WELL NOTED was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MASTER GUNNER. For some distance after the 200 Metres, PACHINKO, which was closing the race off, had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 100 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of SILENT DRAGON to go forward. Throughout the race, HIGH MARK travelled wide and without cover. HAPPY CAGA, ESPERANZA and SUGAR ON TOP were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY CAGA, ESPERANZA and SUGAR ON TOP after the race did not show any significant findings. MI REILLY and VENI VEDI VICI were sent for sampling.
