MOST BEAUTIFUL, STAR MAJESTIC and BEAUTY ICON began only fairly. Shortly after the start, ELITE PATCH shifted out and bumped SOLOMON’S BAY. From the outside barrier, MEGA HEART was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. H W Lai (FANTASTIC FABIO) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 850 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of TEAM FORTUNE, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. H W Lai was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 5 January 2020 and to expire on Thursday, 9 January 2020 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). Near the 100 Metres, GIANT TURTLE was shifted to the outside of BEAUTY ICON to continue improving. Over the concluding stages, MEGA HEART raced tight outside ELITE PATCH which shifted out marginally under pressure. Throughout the race, ELITE PATCH travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MOST BEAUTIFUL and TEAM FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ELITE PATCH and MEGA HEART were sent for sampling.
