GRACE HEART was withdrawn on 5.9.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BRAVE LEGEND (M Chadwick). Before being allowed to race again, GRACE HEART will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PEACE N PROSPERITY was crowded for room on jumping between GENERAL IRON and I’M A WITNESS which shifted out. DOLLAR REWARD and PRIMERO bumped at the start, causing both horses to become unbalanced. PRIMERO then shifted out and bumped CHEER WIN which was racing tight inside SHANGHAI MASTER. A short distance later, DOLLAR REWARD became badly unbalanced and was steadied when crowded for room between BRAVE LEGEND and PRIMERO which continued to be unbalanced when racing tight inside CHEER WIN. From the outside barriers, SUPER LEADER and STARLIT KNIGHT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1150 Metres, CHEER WIN was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SHANGHAI MASTER which got its head on the side and shifted in away from POWERMAX. Passing the 1000 Metres, POWERMAX got its head up momentarily when racing outside the heels of SHANGHAI MASTER which, after shifting in, was corrected by its rider. After this, POWERMAX travelled wide and without cover. Passing the 50 Metres, SUPER LEADER was shifted out away from the heels of POWERMAX which drifted out under pressure. After the race, J Moreira reported that CHEER WIN was making an abnormal respiratory noise during and after the race. A subsequent endoscopic examination confirmed the horse to be a "roarer”. DOLLAR REWARD, BRAVE LEGEND and POWERMAX were sent for sampling.
