AUDACITY began only fairly. GREAT JOY was slow to begin. REWARDING FLYER and SNOW SLIDER bumped on jumping. WINGOLD and SUPER MAN made heavy contact on jumping, resulting in WINGOLD becoming unbalanced and shifting out abruptly, causing HARMONY PARTNERS to be crowded for room inside TRIUMPHANT LIGHT. After this, WINGOLD, TRIUMPHANT LIGHT and HARMONY PARTNERS were all steadied and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Shortly after the start, FANCY MUSIC was crowded for room outside PENNY LANE which shifted out. Making the first turn near the 900 Metres, GREAT JOY raced tight inside WINGOLD which lay in away from TRIUMPHANT LIGHT. After the 700 Metres, MY BLESSING was left racing wide and without cover. Passing the 500 Metres, TRIUMPHANT LIGHT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MY BLESSING. At the entrance to the Straight, GREAT JOY was crowded for room between HARMONY PARTNERS and FANCY MUSIC which, after initially being directed out by WINGOLD, then shifted out further away from that horse. At the 400 Metres, HAPPY GAINS and MY BLESSING raced tight as HAPPY GAINS shifted out to obtain clear running. Passing the 400 Metres, WINGOLD was shifted to the inside of HAPPY GAINS after being awkwardly placed behind that horse when held up for clear running. WINGOLD then had some difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 200 Metres. Close to the finishing line, HAPPY GAINS shifted out and bumped MY BLESSING. A veterinary inspection of WORKS OF ART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER MAN, SNOW SLIDER and HIT A HOME RUN were sent for sampling.
