On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to FAT CHOY HONG KONG was refitted. FORGIVE AND FORGET began only fairly. JAEGER BOMB began awkwardly. LUGER travelled wide and without cover in the early stages. Passing the 1000 Metres, FORGIVE AND FORGET was crowded for room inside GRIFFINDOR which, when proving difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of KA YING KID, was then taken in by FAT CHOY HONG KONG (G Mosse) which shifted in before being directed back out by its rider to relieve the tightening. XILAI XIANZI, which was following, was hampered in consequence. G Mosse was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in future. For some distance approaching and passing the 300 Metres, KA YING KID raced in restricted room between FURIO and FAT CHOY HONG KONG when obtaining a narrow run between those horses. Near the 200 Metres, FURIO and KA YING KID were crowded for room between SUPREME FLIGHT which shifted out slightly and FAT CHOY HONG KONG which, after shifting in marginally, then shifted in further after being bumped on the hindquarters by KA YING KID. In the Straight, MULTIVICTORY got its head on the side and shifted out on a number of occasions, resulting in its rider, M Chadwick, having to stop riding and straighten. Throughout the race, VICTORY HEART travelled wide and without cover. MULTIVICTORY and LUGER were sent for sampling.
