PACIFIC ALLIANCE made the turn into the Home Straight on the first occasion awkwardly and then when travelling keenly was inclined to hang out. After the 800 Metres, PLENTY OF TALENT commenced to give ground and finished tailed out. When PLENTY OF TALENT was giving ground, some inconvenience was caused to TALE OF FRIENDSHIP which was carried back. PLENTY OF TALENT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PLENTY OF TALENT after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of PLENTY OF TALENT was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, PLENTY OF TALENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. At the 700 Metres, HAPPY HEROES was bumped by TALE OF FRIENDSHIP which shifted to the outside of PLENTY OF TALENT. Shortly after this, TALE OF FRIENDSHIP was checked when disappointed for running between HAPPY HEROES and PLENTY OF TALENT which continued to give ground. After the 200 Metres, VITALITY CHAMP, which was giving ground, was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside SERIOUS PLAY which was improving on the inside of SUPER POWER. When questioned regarding the poor performance of VITALITY CHAMP, Y T Cheng who was riding the horse for the first time in a race tonight explained his mount travelled comfortably with an uncontested lead throughout the race. He said after straightening he placed VITALITY CHAMP under pressure, however, his mount failed to quicken and then after the 250 Metres gave ground. He was not able to offer any explanation for the performance of the horse. Mr T K Ng, trainer of VITALITY CHAMP, also was not able to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. VITALITY CHAMP was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of VITALITY CHAMP after the race did not show any significant findings. OCTAGONAL CANYON and SUPER POWER were sent for sampling.
