NOBLE SILENCE and KING HOGAN were slow to begin. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SUNBELL was crowded for room inside ALL OUR WAY which had its head on the side and shifted ground. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, HAPPY CRUSADER was momentarily steadied away from the heels of DASHING CHAMPION. Making the turn after the 1200 Metres, KING HOGAN, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of ELFHELM. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, VICTORY TREASURE, which was inclined to lay in, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CLASSA SUPREME which at this time was drifting out. Passing the 200 Metres, VICTORY TREASURE and HAPPY CRUSADER bumped. Also passing the 200 Metres, as Z Purton (ELFHELM) endeavoured to change the whip into his right hand, he momentarily dropped his right rein which took some time to re-gather. Near the 150 Metres, ALL OUR WAY attempted to savage KINGSTON WINNER. As this was the second occasion on which ALL OUR WAY had attempted to savage another runner, Mr A Schutz, trainer of the horse, was advised it will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial while travelling amongst other runners before being permitted to race again. D Whyte was unable to offer an explanation for the poor performance of DON RICARDO. He said at no stage of the race did DON RICARDO travel well and he had to apply pressure to the horse throughout the race in an endeavour to have it maintain its position. He did point out DON RICARDO was racing in a visor for the first time tonight. DON RICARDO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DON RICARDO after the race did not show any significant findings. As Mr D Cruz, the trainer of SUNBELL, is currently absent from Hong Kong, the Stewards will interview him regarding the improved performance of the horse on his return. CLASSA SUPREME was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of CLASSA SUPREME after the race did not show any significant findings. SUNBELL and HAPPY CRUSADER were sent for sampling.
