TOUCHDOWN STRIKER was withdrawn from the race when that horse, which was fractious in the Parade Ring, refused to proceed to the Start. Before being permitted to race again, TOUCHDOWN STRIKER will be required to pass a satisfactory parade test and proceed to the Start in a timely manner. AFTER ME began awkwardly. STARLOT began awkwardly and lost ground and then lost further ground when crowded for room a short distance after the start between SHOW MISSION and LEISURED FEET which was taken out by RAICHU. In the early stages, WHISTLE UP took some time to muster speed. After the 600 Metres, EXPONENTS was left racing wide and without cover. After the 500 Metres, PEACE ON EARTH was awkwardly placed behind LEISURED FEET. After the 200 Metres, LEISURED FEET and EXPONENTS raced tight. Also over the concluding stages, STARLOT had difficulty obtaining clear running and consequently was not able to be fully tested in the run to the finishing line. Close to the finishing line, SHOW MISSION was awkwardly placed behind RAICHU and consequently was not ridden out all the way to the end of the race. A veterinary inspection of BLADE RACER and WHISTLE UP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LEISURED FEET, PRAWN YEAH YEAH and EXPONENTS were sent for sampling.

On arrival at the track, it was noted that MEGATRON had lost its left hind plate in transit and had sustained minor wounds to both hind legs. MEGATRON was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. ROMANTIC JOURNEY began awkwardly and lost ground. LITTLE ISLAND was crowded for room on jumping between COME ON WONGCHOY and DRAGON WARRIOR, both of which shifted ground. GOLD VELVET shifted in at the start and bumped WONDERFUL TIGER. Then from a wide barrier, WONDERFUL TIGER was steadied and shifted across behind runners. Also from wide barriers, GOLDEN KID and LUCKY SHINY DAY were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages. GOLD VELVET travelled wide and without cover until passing the 900 Metres at which time LUCKY SHINY DAY was left racing wide and without cover. SUNNY MAJOR lost its left front plate after the 800 Metres. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, SUNNY MAJOR shifted out away from the heels of GOLD VELVET, resulting in SKY GEM being bumped and taken wider. Also making the turn after the 600 Metres, DRAGON WARRIOR got its head on the side and lay out towards the heels of GOLD VELVET. At the entrance to the Straight, COME ON WONGCHOY momentarily raced tight inside CURLING LUXURY. Passing the 300 Metres, GOLD VELVET was shifted in away from the heels of LUCKY SHINY DAY to obtain clear running. Near the 50 Metres, LUCKY SHINY DAY was awkwardly placed inside SKY GEM. Close to the finishing line, CURLING LUXURY raced tight inside GOLD VELVET. When questioned, A Domeyer stated that he was not given any specific instructions on how GOLD VELVET should be ridden from the wide barrier, however, it was anticipated that the horse may settle in the second half of the field. He said GOLD VELVET began well and he did not ride his mount along in the early stages, however, when the horse began better than he expected, he decided to ride it forward and obtain a position closer to the lead as he did not feel that the race would be run at a particularly fast tempo and felt that steadying the horse towards the rear of the field would not be to GOLD VELVET’s advantage. A veterinary inspection of DRAGON WARRIOR and LITTLE ISLAND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SKY GEM, MEGATRON and GOLD VELVET were sent for sampling.

On arrival at the track, it was noted that RIGHT CHOICE had sustained a minor cut to the right hip in transit. RIGHT CHOICE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On arrival at the Start, it was noted that HARMONY HERO had lost its left front plate. After this plate was refitted, HARMONY HERO was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. MISSION TYCOON shifted in at the start and bumped HARMONY HERO. HELENE CHARISMA began only fairly. Shortly after the start, RIGHT CHOICE (U Rispoli), which was being ridden along, shifted in and bumped GREEN LUCK. After this, GREEN LUCK was shifted across behind runners. RIGHT CHOICE was then ridden along for a considerable distance, however, failed to muster speed. U Rispoli reported that despite being hard ridden for the majority of the race, RIGHT CHOICE did not show any speed and in the middle stages became somewhat detached from the field. He said when GREEN LUCK commenced to improve passing the 700 Metres, he rode RIGHT CHOICE aggressively in an attempt to follow that horse forward, however, RIGHT CHOICE would not respond and it was not until the concluding stages that the horse commenced to make any ground. He added after its barrier trial in the lead up to tonight’s race, he had suggested to connections that RIGHT CHOICE may be better suited in races of longer than the distance of tonight’s race and based on the manner in which RIGHT CHOICE performed tonight, in his opinion, this confirmed that RIGHT CHOICE would appreciate a step up in distance. LITTERATEUR travelled keenly approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion. After entering the Straight, DOCTOR GEOFF got its head on the side and hung in and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CIRCUIT GLORY passing the 300 Metres. When questioned, A Domeyer stated that he was instructed to obtain a forward position on MISSION TYCOON and lead the race outright if possible. He said after beginning well on MISSION TYCOON, he allowed his mount to improve its position passing the 1300 Metres where both DOCTOR GEOFF and CIRCUIT GLORY improved to the outside of MISSION TYCOON. He said he was aware that CIRCUIT GLORY would be ridden forward to cross DOCTOR GEOFF and therefore he allowed MISSION TYCOON more rein so as to ensure that CIRCUIT GLORY did not race on terms with his mount. He said he commenced to steady MISSION TYCOON after the 1000 Metres, however, CIRCUIT GLORY commenced to improve closer to MISSION TYCOON near the 900 Metres which resulted in his mount wanting to travel keener than he had anticipated. He said he attempted to steady the tempo on MISSION TYCOON without allowing CIRCUIT GLORY to improve its position around his mount, however, MISSION TYCOON continued to travel strongly and this resulted in the middle section of the race being run at a faster tempo than hoped. He said because of this MISSION TYCOON was then not able to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of MISSION TYCOON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of DOCTOR GEOFF immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GREEN LUCK and HELENE CHARISMA were sent for sampling.

He said just prior to the start being effected BULLISH BROTHER got its head down and then as the start was effected began awkwardly and stumbled. He said by the time he was able to balance up BULLISH BROTHER, he believed it was no longer available to him to ride his mount in a forward position as instructed and therefore he elected to obtain a position with cover further back in the field than had been intended. He said due to being ridden further back in the field than is usual, BULLISH BROTHER finished off the race fairly. A veterinary inspection of BULLISH BROTHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SHINING ON, VERY SWEET ORANGE and CONFUCIUS DAY were sent for sampling.
