FAIR WIN began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. Shortly after the start, FAIR WIN and MAGIC TURBO were crowded for room inside EIGHT PLUS NINE which on jumping shifted in. At the 650 Metres, DON FELIPE bumped the running rail and became unbalanced. For some distance after straightening, ENCHANTED was held up and unable to obtain clear running. From the 400 Metres until the 250 Metres, FAIR WIN was held up and unable to obtain clear running. At the 300 Metres, FERRO BEAU was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of MASCOT FORTUNE. Throughout the race, THUNDER DANCING travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the poor performance of MARIACHI which was racing first up from a let-up today, G Boss said his mount travelled comfortably in the run, made some ground in the early part of the Straight, however, its run ended near the 200 Metres. He said the manner in which MARIACHI pulled up following the race indicated to him the horse would derive benefit from today’s run. MARIACHI was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. DON FELIPE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MARIACHI and DON FELIPE after the race did not show any significant findings. THUNDER DANCING and FERRO BEAU were sent for sampling.
