SUPER HONG KONG jumped awkwardly and was hampered when crowded by PERFETTO which shifted out. SUPER HONG KONG was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
FAST BUCK shifted in at the start and crowded PRESIDENT’S CHOICE.
PERFECT TO GREAT jumped only fairly and then was crowded by PERFECT ROCK which shifted out.
TURIN WARRIOR was slow to begin.
From wide barriers, LIFELINE VISION and MASTER OF FORTUNE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the Home Turn, PERFECT TO GREAT shifted to the outside of PERFETTO to improve and as a result made contact with LIFELINE VISION, taking that runner wider.
Also making the Home Turn, SUPER HONG KONG was held up when endeavouring to obtain a narrow run to the inside of HAPPY DAY.
TURIN WARRIOR was held up making the Home Turn and again between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
For a short distance near the 350 Metres, PERFECT ROCK became held up behind INDIGENOUS REALM which shifted out when giving ground.
Near the 125 Metres, L Hewitson (SUPER HONG KONG) dropped his whip.
JOYFUL CHAMPION raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
The performance of INDIGENOUS REALM, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. A veterinary inspection of INDIGENOUS REALM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, INDIGENOUS REALM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, Z Purton (PERFETTO) reported that his mount failed to pick up when placed under pressure in the Straight under its weight of 135 lbs. A veterinary inspection of PERFETTO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

PERFETTO, MASTER OF FORTUNE and SUPERB MOVE were sent for sampling.
