HANDSOME BO BO was withdrawn on 4.1.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left nostril injury). Before being allowed to race again, HANDSOME BO BO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
KURPANY shifted out at the start and bumped GRATEFUL HEART.
SILVER FIG began only fairly.
From wide barriers, SHINING GEM and HELENE WISDOM STAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
Passing the 1000 Metres, IGNITING raced tight inside CALIFORNIA RAD which shifted in.
Rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, SILVER FIG was held up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SETANTA.
Near the 250 Metres, CALIFORNIA RAD momentarily raced tight inside KA YING MASTER which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the crowding to CALIFORNIA RAD.
After the race, J Moreira stated that HONG KONG WIN travelled satisfactorily in the early and middle stages, however, after being placed under pressure after the 500 Metres did not respond to his riding and, in his opinion, raced "flat” tonight. A veterinary inspection of HONG KONG WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
KURPANY and IGNITING were sent for sampling.
