COBY OPPA began awkwardly and lost ground.
HAPPY TANGO began only fairly.
BEAUTY CHEERS shifted out at the start and bumped FOREVER CITY.
From a wide barrier, DEMONS ROCK was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When racing wide approaching the 1000 Metres, FORTUNE HAPPINESS was steadied to obtain cover.
Approaching the 400 Metres, FORTUNE HAPPINESS raced tight outside DEMONS ROCK which attempted to improve into tight running between that horse and FOREVER CITY. When unable to improve to the outside of FOREVER CITY, DEMONS ROCK was shifted to the inside of that horse passing the 400 Metres to obtain clear running.
At the entrance to the Straight, FORTUNE HAPPINESS was steadied and shifted to the outside of DOLLAR REWARD when disappointed for running between FOREVER CITY and DOLLAR REWARD which shifted in away from the heels of SURE WINNER which was giving ground.
Approaching the 50 Metres, DOLLAR REWARD got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of BEAUTY CHEERS, resulting in DOLLAR REWARD being awkwardly placed inside that horse. Then close to the finishing line, DOLLAR REWARD raced tight outside the heels of FOREVER CITY which was taken out by DEMONS ROCK which, when shifting out behind AMAZING KNIGHT, was corrected and shifted back in to continue improving.
Throughout the race, SURE WINNER travelled wide and without cover.
The performances of GOOD LUCK CHARM and COBY OPPA, both of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD LUCK CHARM and COBY OPPA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GOOD LUCK CHARM and COBY OPPA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, K Teetan stated that after being slow to begin, DIVINE ERA, which was having its first race start on the All Weather surface tonight, raced disappointingly. He said after travelling only fairly in the early and middle stages, DIVINE ERA came under pressure prior to the 600 Metres and after being vigorously ridden rounding the Home Turn did not respond to his riding and gave ground in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of DIVINE ERA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, J Moreira said BEAUTY CHEERS, which was having its first race start on the All Weather surface tonight, finished off the race only fairly. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY CHEERS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY CHEERS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
BEAUTY CHEERS, STRIKING MR C and AMAZING KNIGHT were sent for sampling.
