SKY SHOW was withdrawn on 9.1.21 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (respiratory infection) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FARSHAD (A Hamelin). Before being allowed to race again, SKY SHOW will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After beginning awkwardly, CIRCUIT SEVEN was hampered by FARSHAD which shifted out at the start. FARSHAD was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
TORNADO TWIST began only fairly.
Soon after the start, KING’S CAPITAL was bumped by PRESIDENT’S CHOICE which shifted in.
For some distance approaching the first turn near the 900 Metres, CIRCUIT SIX got its head up and raced fiercely when being restrained away from the heels of PRIVATE ROCKET which was shifting in to obtain cover behind JUST NOT LISTENING. The Stewards were satisfied that the racing manners of CIRCUIT SIX were the primary cause of this incident.
Over the final 100 Metres, MERIDIAN GENIUS raced tight inside KING’S CAPITAL which shifted in under pressure.
Throughout the race, JUST NOT LISTENING travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.
A veterinary inspection of PRESIDENT’S CHOICE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SIGHT SUCCESS and TORNADO TWIST were sent for sampling.
