AI ONE got its head on the side on jumping, shifted out and bumped with EQUALETTA BLITZ. After beginning awkwardly from the outside barrier, KASI FARASI was shifted across behind runners. Passing the 1200 Metres, INDIGENOUS REALM shifted in away from EQUALETTA BLITZ. CRAIG’S STAR was left racing wide and without cover at the 900 Metres. When steadied away from the heels of LEGION OF MERIT after the 800 Metres, AI ONE shifted out abruptly and lost ground. On straightening, RIGHT CHOICE got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of INDIGENOUS REALM which commenced to give ground. As a result, RIGHT CHOICE was checked and lost ground. At the 250 Metres, FANTASTIC SHOW shifted out and inconvenienced both LEGION OF MERIT and AI ONE. AI ONE, which raced greenly under pressure, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of LEGION OF MERIT which became unbalanced approaching the 150 Metres. AI ONE continued to race greenly under pressure and shifted in abruptly after the 100 Metres and further inconvenienced LEGION OF MERIT. Passing the 150 Metres and again after the 100 Metres, AMAZING NEWS became unbalanced in its action. Over the concluding stages, EQUALETTA BLITZ was hampered by KA YING EXCELLENT (J Moreira) which shifted in under pressure before being corrected. J Moreira was reprimanded. As a consequence of being corrected, KA YING EXCELLENT was not ridden out all the way to the finishing line. The performance of INDIGENOUS REALM, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, INDIGENOUS REALM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of INDIGENOUS REALM immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. After the race, C Soumillon reported that AMAZING NEWS travelled too keenly throughout the early and middle stages and as a consequence was not able to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of RIGHT CHOICE and KASI FARASI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY QIJI immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. KA YING EXCELLENT, JUNEAU PARK and LEWIS were sent for sampling.
