Steward Report Predict Pace Map
From wide barriers, EXALTATION, CHEERFUL STAR and FORTUNE TRIPLE were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For some distance approaching the 800 Metres, CHEERFUL STAR was awkwardly placed behind INDIGENOUS STAR. EXALTATION travelled wide and without cover from the 800 Metres. After shifting out to improve around the heels of SWEETLY BABY at the entrance to the Straight, OWNERS’ STAR was then directed back to the inside of that horse to obtain clear running. After the race, A Badel was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of SWEETLY BABY other than to say that the manner in which the horse weakened over the latter stages indicated to him that it may be experiencing some internal issues. A veterinary inspection of and SWEETLY BABY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
