CHAMPION SUPREME was slow to begin. SOUTHERN SUPERSTAR was crowded for room on jumping between STARSHIP and FARSHAD, both of which shifted ground. In this incident, FARSHAD became badly unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by SOUTHERN SUPERSTAR. Near the 1600 Metres, CHAMPION SUPREME momentarily raced in restricted room between SOUTHERN SUPERSTAR and BRAVE LEGEND, both of which shifted ground. Approaching the 1300 Metres, FARSHAD was left racing wide and without cover and then was consequently allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead near the 800 Metres. OWNERS’ STAR was ridden along passing the 500 Metres in an attempt to shift to the outside of BIG BANG BONG as CHAMPION SUPREME improved quickly to its outside. As OWNERS’ STAR was not able to shift out at this time due to CHAMPION SUPREME improving, OWNERS’ STAR was awkwardly placed behind BIG BANG BONG after the 500 Metres. Near the 250 Metres, SOUTHERN SUPERSTAR was shifted to the inside of SUPERB DADDY after being disappointed for running between that horse which shifted out and BIG BANG BONG which raced tight inside CHAMPION SUPREME. Near the 50 Metres, SOUTHERN SUPERSTAR raced tight inside the heels of FARSHAD which got its head on the side and lay in. After the race, Z Purton reported that, in his opinion, SUPERB DADDY is immature and after being ridden along in the early stages to obtain a forward position did not finish off the race. He said he suggested to connections that they consider bringing SUPERB DADDY back in distance in its future starts given the horse’s immaturity at this early stage of its racing career. A veterinary inspection of SUPERB DADDY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, C Y Ho stated that, in his opinion, STAR OF YUEN LONG’s failure to finish off the race could be attributed to the horse racing over 1650 Metres at the first time of asking after having not raced since early January this year. A veterinary inspection of STAR OF YUEN LONG immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. A veterinary inspection of SOUTHERN SUPERSTAR immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SOUTHERN SUPERSTAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of BIG BANG BONG immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FLASH FAMOUS and OWNERS’ STAR were sent for sampling.
