TRUST ME, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 7.2.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, TRUST ME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
HAPPY VICTORY shifted in at the start and bumped BRAVE BABY.
STOCK LEGEND was slow to begin, shifted out at the start and was checked away from the heels of ALL THE WAY.
SPICY GRILL was crowded for room on jumping between SMART WONGCHOY and QIPAO BOSS which shifted in.
DUBLIN STAR, which began awkwardly, and FIGHTER BOY bumped at the start, resulting in FIGHTER BOY becoming unbalanced and stumbling.
For some distance approaching and passing the 600 Metres, FIGHTER BOY travelled very strongly when racing behind SUMSTREETSUMWHERE and outside SPICY GRILL. FIGHTER BOY continued to be held up for clear running until near the 350 Metres at which stage it raced tight outside SPICY GRILL.
Near the 450 Metres, BRAVE BABY and HAPPY VICTORY were crowded for room between HERE COMES TED and ALL THE WAY which lay in and then became unbalanced after making contact with HAPPY VICTORY.
AIOLOS raced tight outside SUMSTREETSUMWHERE after the 400 Metres.
Approaching the 300 Metres, STOCK LEGEND was shifted out away from the heels of SMART WONGCHOY which shifted ground when racing greenly.
SPICY GRILL raced greenly after the 300 Metres.
Near the 50 Metres, DUBLIN STAR shifted in and bumped ZERO HEDGE.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SMART WONGCHOY, which was having its first race start today, K Teetan stated that after parading well SMART WONGCHOY became stirred up when proceeding to the Start. He said, unlike in its trials when the horse travelled strongly, SMART WONGCHOY did not travel kindly in today’s race when racing very greenly. He said the horse got its head up on a number of occasions and after the 500 Metres lay in when continuing to race with its head up. He said SMART WONGCHOY then gave ground over the latter stages and he believed the horse would be improved by the experience given how greenly it travelled during the race. A veterinary inspection of SMART WONGCHOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
DUBLIN STAR, EL JEFE and ZERO HEDGE were sent for sampling.
