LIGHTNING TREASURE bounded in the air as the start was effected, shifted in and made heavy contact with the hindquarters of DRAGON DANCE, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. After this, LIGHTNING TREASURE was shifted across behind runners. Despite being ridden along, DRAGON DANCE then failed to muster speed and consequently settled back in the field and near the 900 Metres was left racing wide and without cover. WASABI WIN shifted out at the start and bumped LE TERROIR. From a wide barrier, GENERAL TRUMP was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Making the turn approaching the 1000 Metres, GOOD COMPANION was momentarily steadied away from the heels of ROYAL CHOCOLATE (S de Sousa) which shifted in when not quite clear. S de Sousa was advised to exercise more care. Near the 1000 Metres, DIAMOND LEGEND, from a wide barrier, was left racing wide and without cover and was consequently steadied to obtain cover. After the 1000 Metres, LE TERROIR got its head on the side and lay out towards the heels of PLAY TO WIN. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, WASABI WIN lay out away from the rail. LIGHTNING TREASURE, which was following, improved its position to be racing inside the heels of WASABI WIN. LIGHTNING TREASURE was then steadied near the 550 Metres when racing tight inside WASABI WIN. LIGHTNING TREASURE was held up for a short distance behind WASABI WIN before improving to the inside of that horse after the 500 Metres when WASABI WIN again got its head on the side and lay out. Also making the turn after the 600 Metres, GENERAL TRUMP lay out towards the heels of DIAMOND LEGEND. A veterinary inspection of WASABI WIN and DRAGON DANCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of LIGHTNING TREASURE immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, LIGHTNING TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOOD COMPANION, LONDON MASTER and ROYAL CHOCOLATE were sent for sampling.
