GLORIOUS ARTIST shifted out at the start and bumped DINOZZO which lost ground when crowded onto the hindquarters of DARK DREAM which became unbalanced. From the outside barrier, SUPER CHIC was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Soon after passing the winning post on the first occasion, DINOZZO became unbalanced when steadied away from the heels of DARK DRAM (S de Sousa) which was steadied and shifted in across the heels of GLORIOUS ARTIST to obtain cover. S de Sousa was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise far more care in similar circumstances. Approaching the 1600 Metres, GLORIOUS ARTIST was left racing wide and without cover when HARMONY VICTORY shifted out to trail INSAYSHABLE. When questioned, K Teetan stated that, as is customary, SUPER CHIC settled towards the rear of the field. He added in the early part of the Straight the horse commenced to make ground along the rail and to the inside of the ultimate winner DARK DREAM. He said however that SUPER CHIC’s run ended soon after and the horse was most disappointing in its failure to close off the race, particularly over the final 200 Metres. The performance of SUPER CHIC, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER CHIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SUPER CHIC immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. HARMONY VICTORY, DARK DREAM and GIANT TURTLE were sent for sampling.
