MOST BEAUTIFUL began only fairly. After this, MOST BEAUTIFUL was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. EAGLE began only fairly and then for a considerable distance in the early stages was ridden along to obtain a forward position. AMAZING CHOCOLATE began only fairly, shifted out on jumping and bumped the hindquarters of HEALTHY LUCK which became unbalanced. From the outside barriers, MONEY BOY and GOKO were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Passing the 300 Metres, STAR OF JOY got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of TELECOM BROTHERS. Throughout the race, STAR OF JOY travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, K C Leung stated that he was asked to find cover on BEAUT BEAUT as it is of the belief of connections that the horse races best when ridden in this manner. He said it was felt that if BEAUT BEAUT were to be ridden along from barrier 8, the horse may not be able to obtain a trailing position and as such may not finish off the race. He said he was therefore asked to shift BEAUT BEAUT across behind runners in the early stages and obtain cover. He said in order to do this, he had to steady BEAUT BEAUT in the early stages after the horse began very well and initially obtained cover behind MIDNIGHT RATTLER. He said he was then able to obtain a position on the rail and improved his position in the early stages to race in about midfield after the 500 Metres. A veterinary inspection of BEAUT BEAUT immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUT BEAUT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of EAGLE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. EAGLE, TELECOM BROTHERS and MOST BEAUTIFUL were sent for sampling. <29/11/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>BEAUT BEAUT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. BEAUT BEAUT was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer L Ho this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, BEAUT BEAUT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
