BEAUTY LOYAL, which was restless in the barriers, sat back as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin. MOST BEAUTIFUL shifted out abruptly at the start and bumped SEVEN HEAVENS, causing that horse to become badly unbalanced and MOST BEAUTIFUL to stumble. After this, SEVEN HEAVENS got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly, causing MOST BEAUTIFUL to be crowded for room outside STARLIGHT which was taken out by TELECOM BROTHERS which shifted out after being bumped by SPEED VISION which got its head on the side and shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. When SPEED VISION shifted out, CHEEKY BEE was steadied away from the heels of that horse. Near the 900 Metres, BEAUTY LOYAL, which was hard ridden to improve its position inside SEVEN HEAVENS, was checked after SEVEN HEAVENS, which had initially been steadied away from the heels of TELECOM BROTHERS (C Schofield) which shifted in when not properly clear, got its head up when awkwardly placed behind that horse and shifted in away from the heels of TELECOM BROTHERS. As there were a number of circumstances associated with this incident, the Stewards took no further action, however, C Schofield was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. IRON BOY lost its right front plate approaching the 700 Metres. Passing the 250 Metres, ZERO HEDGE shifted in and made contact with SPEED VISION. BEAUTY LOYAL had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 50 Metres. A veterinary inspection of MOST BEAUTIFUL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ZERO HEDGE, STARLIGHT and SEVEN HEAVENS were sent for sampling.
