SHINEALOT began only fairly. SPEEDY DRAGON began only fairly and shortly after the start became unbalanced when checked as a consequence of being crowded for room between LONDON CITY and BINGO which shifted in abruptly after being bumped by WALDORF. From the outside barriers, FORTUNE PATROL, E MASTER and BLACK TECH were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 1100 Metres, HAVE FUN TOGETHER, which had initially drawn to the outside of TOM’S DRAGON (S de Sousa), improved quickly to be racing inside that horse. Then approaching the 1000 Metres, TOM’S DRAGON, which was being steadied to obtain a trailing position behind WALDORF, shifted in before being directed back out which resulted in HAVE FUN TOGETHER losing ground when momentarily crowded for room between SPEEDY DRAGON and TOM’S DRAGON. S de Sousa was reprimanded and informed that whilst there were some circumstances to this incident, nonetheless he must ensure that he is properly clear of other horses when shifting ground. Passing the 900 Metres, BLACK TECH got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly away from FORTUNE PATROL. Passing the 700 Metres, SHINEALOT raced tight inside SPEEDY DRAGON which got its head on the side and shifted in away from TOM’S DRAGON. TOM’S DRAGON and SPEEDY DRAGON then raced tight passing the 650 Metres. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, SHINEALOT again raced in restricted room inside SPEEDY DRAGON which was racing tight inside TOM’S DRAGON. Throughout the race, WALDORF travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of HAVE FUN TOGETHER immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HAVE FUN TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of TOM’S DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HAVE FUN TOGETHER, FANTASTIC FABIO and WALDORF were sent for sampling.
