HAR HAR HEART shifted out at the start and bumped MULTI FACETS. As the start was effected, CHEERFUL BOY reared and began very awkwardly, resulting in its rider, S Clipperton, becoming badly unbalanced. LAND GRANT shifted in at the start and bumped PRETTY BAUHINIA. GREAT HONOUR lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SUPER SPRINTER and LITTLE DRAGON bumped at the start. Then from a wide barrier, SUPER SPRINTER was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Near the 1500 Metres, HAR HAR HEART raced tight inside BRING IT ON which got its head on the side and lay in. Passing the 1500 Metres, PRETTY BAUHINIA was awkwardly placed outside the heels of THE JUDGE when being steadied to obtain a trailing position behind that horse. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, BRING IT ON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HARD BALL GET (Apprentice M F Poon) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Poon was warned against the practice of shifting his mounts in at an acute angle which on this occasion made it difficult for him to straighten HARD BALL GET prior to shifting in and crowding BRING IT ON. After the 100 Metres, HARD BALL GET got its head on the side and lay in away from the heels of HAR HAR HEART. Passing the 50 Metres, MULTI FACETS shifted in, resulting in its rider, K C Ng, having to stop riding and straighten his mount. Throughout the race, LITTLE DRAGON travelled wide and without cover. HAR HAR HEART lost its right front plate after the race. After the race, K Teetan stated that due to the manner in which the race was run, PRETTY BAUHINIA was not able to make up ground in the middle and latter stages and then did not finish off the race as strongly as it had previously. Also after the race, U Rispoli was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of MERRYGOWIN. A veterinary inspection of MERRYGOWIN immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MERRYGOWIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. THE JUDGE, MULTI FACETS and LAND GRANT were sent for sampling. <24/5/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Officer reported that GREAT HONOUR was lame in its right front leg with sore both front fetlocks on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, GREAT HONOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
