TELECOM TITAN began only fairly and then shortly after the start shifted out abruptly across the heels of BUMBLE BABY and lost ground. PERFECT TOUCH began awkwardly. FOXBAT and ALL YOU NEED bumped at the start. OWNERS’ PRESTIGE began only fairly and shortly after the start shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of CELEBRATION which became unbalanced. From the outside barrier, CELEBRATION was then steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. OWNERS’ PRESTIGE made the turn after the 900 Metres awkwardly and then raced with its head on the side and lay out. At the 400 Metres, MONEY BOY and REGENCY DARLING bumped as MONEY BOY was crowded for room between REGENCY DARLING and CALL ME AWESOME (Apprentice H N Wong) which drifted out. Apprentice Wong was advised to ensure that he is alert to his mounts shifting ground and in similar circumstances to make every endeavour to prevent them from shifting. In the early part of the Straight, ALL YOU NEED raced greenly under pressure and near the 300 Metres COMPASSION STAR, which was racing behind ALL YOU NEED, was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. Near the 350 Metres, REGENCY DARLING shifted in and bumped MONEY BOY. Approaching the 100 Metres, REGENCY DARLING momentarily raced tight outside MONEY BOY which shifted out marginally. Passing the 50 Metres, MASTER STEED was shifted out away from the heels of ALL YOU NEED. Throughout the race, REGENCY DARLING travelled wide and without cover. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of T Berry (BUMBLE BABY), 5th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels all the way to the end of the race, where circumstances permit. RELENTLESS ME and ALL YOU NEED were sent for sampling.
