DRAGON MASTER shifted out abruptly at the start, resulting in ARIZONA BLIZZARD and LITTERATEUR being badly crowded for room inside SWISS WARRIOR which became unbalanced when bumped by LITTERATEUR. DRAGON MASTER continued to shift out and shortly after the start stumbled. From wide barriers, BEAR RAPPER and RADIANT BUNNY were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Near the 1150 Metres, LITTERATEUR was steadied away from the heels of SWISS WARRIOR (Z Purton) which shifted in when being ridden along. Z Purton will be advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Approaching the 900 Metres, SUPER MAN raced tight inside the heels of GOLDEN SUN which, when being ridden along, shifted in when racing tight inside SWISS WARRIOR. Near the 450 Metres, SUPER MAN shifted out and made contact with ARIZONA BLIZZARD which became unbalanced. At the entrance to the Straight, SUPER MAN, which had improved into tight running between STARTLING POWER and ARIZONA BLIZZARD, was checked when STARTLING POWER shifted out marginally and ARIZONA BLIZZARD shifted in as its rider, J Moreira, was changing his whip from his left hand into his right hand. In the circumstances, J Moreira was advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. Near the 200 Metres, SUPER MAN was hampered when momentarily crowded for room inside ARIZONA BLIZZARD which shifted in. J Moreira was severely reprimanded and advised that whilst the Stewards accepted that ARIZONA BLIZZARD hung in in the Straight, in future he would be expected to make every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. DEJA VU was held up for clear running approaching and passing the 200 Metres. Approaching the 100 Metres, RADIANT BUNNY was severely checked away from the heels of SWISS WARRIOR which gave ground abruptly. In the Straight, DRAGON MASTER lay out under pressure. Throughout the race, STARTLING POWER travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SWISS WARRIOR immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and that it also displaying signs of thumps. Before being allowed to race again, SWISS WARRIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ARIZONA BLIZZARD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SWISS WARRIOR, HAPPY METEOR and GOLDEN SUN were sent for sampling.
