As the start was effected, GREAT JOY lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin. OSCAR MIRACLE was slow to begin and then was checked shortly after the start when crowded for room between SUPER SPRINTER which shifted out marginally and ELEGANT TAPESTRY which shifted in. GIANT TURTLE shifted in at the start and inconvenienced WEALTHY FORTUNE. Shortly after the start, SUPER SWEET ORANGE was steadied and shifted across behind runners. FINE ROCK (C Y Ho) travelled keenly in the lead. After the race, C Y Ho reported that his mount also lay out throughout the race and in the Straight hung out and proved difficult to ride. Approaching the 800 Metres, SUPER SWEET ORANGE travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WEALTHY FORTUNE. At the entrance to the Straight, GREAT JOY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOOD CHOICE. Over the concluding stages, WEALTHY FORTUNE raced tight inside GOOD CHOICE. The performance of ELEGANT TAPESTRY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ELEGANT TAPESTRY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of PEARL FURU immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER SPRINTER, RAPID TRIUMPH and GIANT TURTLE were sent for sampling.
