After leaving the Parade Ring and prior to entering the track, WIRE TO WIRE became fractious and made heavy contact with a rail, resulting in Y T Cheng, its rider, being dislodged. The Veterinary Officer reported that WIRE TO WIRE had sustained a wound to the right hind leg. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of WIRE TO WIRE. Before being allowed to race again, WIRE TO WIRE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.RACING HERO, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin.PHOTON WILLIE was slow to begin.NOBLE DELUXE began awkwardly.Passing the 800 Metres, EAGLE POWER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BUSINESS AS USUAL.Approaching the 700 Metres, NOBLE DELUXE got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LET ME HANDLE IT.After the 500 Metres, LUNAR RISE was awkwardly placed between PHOTON WILLIE and EAGLE POWER.After the race, K C Leung stated that near the 250 Metres GREAT SPIRIT put in a bad stride and became unbalanced in its action.When questioned, O Doleuze stated that he obtained a good position in the early and middle stages, however, after the 700 Metres was left racing behind BUSINESS AS USUAL and inside GREAT SPIRIT. He said when BUSINESS AS USUAL was not able to improve into the race, EAGLE POWER was taken back through the field. He said after being able to obtain clear running in the Straight, EAGLE POWER then finished off the race satisfactorily. A veterinary inspection of EAGLE POWER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.A veterinary inspection of RACING HERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.EAGLE POWER, FREE JUDGEMENT and APPROVE were sent for sampling.
