TRAVEL BRAND, which was fractious in the barriers, was very slow to begin and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, TRAVEL BRAND will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. When assessing this embargo, the Stewards took into consideration that TRAVEL BRAND had previously failed to pass an official barrier trial after being slow to begin. TAKNAM was slow to begin. KING’S PACT began awkwardly and was then awkwardly placed inside the heels of HELENE SUPER STAR soon after the start. A short distance later, KING’S PACT was taken across behind runners. When travelling wide and without cover in the early stages, REWARDING HERO travelled keenly. After the 900 Metres, LITTLE MEN was checked away from the heels of BEST TANGO when proving very difficult to settle and near the 800 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of that horse. After this, LITTLE MEN travelled wide and without cover. For some distance after the 900 Metres, JOLLY VICTOR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ROCKET FLY. Near the 600 Metres, ROCKET FLY was awkwardly placed behind LITTLE MEN. JOLLY VICTOR, which was following, was hampered in consequence. At the entrance to the Straight, JOLLY VICTOR was steadied away from the heels of TRAVEL BRAND which shifted to the outside of LITTLE MEN into clear running. Passing the 300 Metres, JOLLY VICTOR was shifted in away from the heels of LITTLE MEN. JOLLY VICTOR then had some difficulty obtaining clear running after the 200 Metres between BEST TANGO and LITTLE MEN. Near the 50 Metres, LITTLE MEN shifted out and bumped TRAVEL BRAND. Due to the contact, LITTLE MEN became unbalanced and then shifted in and bumped JOLLY VICTOR. REWARDING HERO and MAJESTIC FALCON were sent for sampling. <2/1/2014 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that KING’S PACT was found to have sustained a fracture to its left front cannon after racing. Before being allowed to race again, KING’S PACT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
