PERI PERI SAFFRON, which was slow to begin, lost further ground when crowded for room at the start between THUNDER POWER and GOOD THINKER which shifted in. Near the 1200 Metres, JUN JU shifted in and bumped THUNDER POWER. At the 500 Metres, FOREVER AHEAD became unbalanced when bumped by YOU KNOW I WIN which shifted out to obtain clear running. For some distance after the 200 Metres, THUNDER POWER was held up behind runners which were giving ground. For the majority of the race, SKIP COURT travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of APOLLO CAVALIER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its left hind plate. A veterinary inspection of FOREVER AHEAD and TARREGA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MAJESTIC ANTHEM and JUN JU were sent for sampling.
