WINDICATOR POWER shifted in at the start and bumped the hindquarters of MILITARY MOVE which became unbalanced. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, BEST ELEVEN and HORSE GALORE failed to muster speed and consequently raced back in the field. Approaching the 1000 Metres, FULFIL A WISH shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, T H So, resulting in TALLEY CLOSE being checked when crowded for room between that horse and ARRIVED AHEAD which itself became unbalanced when bumped by TALLEY CLOSE. As the Stewards were satisfied that T H So had made sufficient endeavour to prevent his mount from shifting in at this stage of the race, no further action was taken. Also approaching the 1000 Metres, MILITARY MOVE was momentarily crowded for room inside WINDICATOR POWER which shifted in marginally. Passing the 1000 Metres, FLYING COLOURS was crowded for room between CHARLES THE GREAT and BEST ELEVEN which got its head on the side and shifted out. Near the 600 Metres, MILITARY MOVE became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of BEST ELEVEN (A Suborics) which shifted in marginally. A Suborics was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. After being crossed by LEGENDARY DRAGON near the 600 Metres, FULFIL A WISH shifted out away from that horse’s heels and in doing so made contact with HORSE GALORE which became unbalanced and was taken wider. Passing the 500 Metres, WINDICATOR POWER commenced to over-race and shifted out abruptly across the heels of TURBO KING, resulting in CHARLES THE GREAT and FLYING COLOURS being taken wider Near the 100 Metres, ABLE SPEED and BEST ELEVEN brushed. Right on the finishing line, BEST ELEVEN and LEGENDARY DRAGON bumped. A veterinary inspection of FLYING COLOURS and TURBO KING after the race did not show any significant findings. TALLEY CLOSE, ARRIVED AHEAD and HORSE GALORE were sent for sampling.
