DREAMS MAKER was withdrawn on 29.6.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TRAVEL KING (T Clark). Before being allowed to race again, DREAMS MAKER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. JUST GOOD began awkwardly. GOOD JOB began awkwardly, resulting in its rider, T H So, becoming unbalanced in the saddle. GOOD JOB then got its head on the side and hung out after the 800 Metres. Throughout the race, MY MELODY and LINKED WIN travelled wide and without cover. After the race, K C Leung (ISLAND SPRING) reported his saddle shifted back at the 300 Metres. K C Leung was interviewed regarding this matter. He said whilst his saddle shifted back, his riding out of ISLAND SPRING in the Straight was only marginally affected. He stated that he was aware that his saddle had occasionally shifted during races and because of this he had recently taken steps to prevent a reoccurrence. Jockey Leung was notified that his saddle had shifted back in races on a disproportionate number of occasions during this season. He was further advised that he must take whatever steps that are available to him to ensure that his saddle does not shift in races. A veterinary inspection of MY MELODY after the race revealed that the horse was a “roarer” which had previously been reported. A veterinary inspection of HOT PEPPER after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of GREY WHIZZ after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had shifted its right front plate. VIVA DOLPHIN, GENERAL DANROAD and JUST GOOD were sent for sampling.
