FLYING TOGETHER was withdrawn on 27.4.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MASTER GUNNER (D Whyte). Before being allowed to race again, FLYING TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BUDDY BUDDIES was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, BUDDY BUDDIES will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SUPREME KNIGHT began very awkwardly and knuckled over at the start. SLICK BULLET began awkwardly. HAPPY HA HA and BUDDY BUDDIES were slow to begin. After the 1200 Metres, MASTER GUNNER got its head up and proved difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHINA DELIGHT. Near the 200 Metres, THE UNTOUCHABLELAD was shifted in away from the heels of MERIDIAN TREASURE to continue improving. Throughout the race, ELEPHANT MAGIC travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ELEPHANT MAGIC had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of RACING REWARD after the race revealed that the horse was lame in the left front leg and an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. It was also reported that RACING REWARD had lost its left front plate. Before being allowed to race again, RACING REWARD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPREME KNIGHT and HAPPY HA HA were sent for sampling.
