METRO RIDER began very awkwardly, resulting in its rider, T Clark becoming badly unbalanced in the saddle. Because of this, METRO RIDER lost ground at the start. FAST INTENTIONS and HEY HA MASTER bumped at the start. Making the first turn after the 1000 Metres, MEGABUCKS raced in restricted room between GOOD FORTUNE and HEY HA MASTER. After the 900 Metres, FAST INTENTIONS became unbalanced after shifting in towards the rail. Near the 650 Metres, MEGABUCKS was steadied away from the heels of HEY HA MASTER. For some distance after the 500 Metres, FULL VERSION and FLYING KEEPER raced tight as FULL VERSION attempted to shift out from behind FAST INTENTIONS. At the 200 Metres, METRO RIDER was momentarily held up for clear running and then shifted out to improve. After the 200 Metres, FAST INTENTIONS was shifted in away from the heels of HEY HA MASTER to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, ASTROKID and POLYMER POWER travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MARVEL PLUS after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of GOOD FORTUNE after the race revealed that the horse had bled from both nostrils. FLYING KEEPER and FULL VERSION were sent for sampling.
