On arrival at the Start, Jockey J Lloyd expressed concern regarding the action of GO LUCKY GO. GO LUCKY GO was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was lame in the right front leg. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GO LUCKY GO. Before being allowed to race again, GO LUCKY GO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PERFECT SPRINT was slow to begin. ARION OF CHIU TON was crowded for room shortly after the start between FLYING IN and SUMMER DASH which shifted out. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, FLYING IN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUMMER DASH. After the 800 Metres, SUPER BRAND was steadied away from the heels of MR MARFACH (Apprentice T H So) which, at this time, was steadied by its rider. PERFECT FIT and PERFECT SPRINT, which were following SUPER BRAND, were also steadied in consequence. Apprentice So was advised of the requirement not to excessively steady the tempo of races. After the 500 Metres, ELEPHANT CHEERS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORY IDE SAY. Passing the 300 Metres, ALMIGHTY WINDPOWER was bumped by FLYING IN which shifted out. Near the 150 Metres, ALMIGHTY WINDPOWER was steadied away from the heels of FLYING IN which shifted out and away from SUMMER DASH which itself shifted out under pressure. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that PERFECT SPRINT had sustained a cut to the outside of the right front cannon. A veterinary inspection of SUPER BRAND and PERFECT FIT after the race did not show any significant findings. SUNRISE and SUMMER DASH were sent for sampling.
