SUPER GENERAL began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped HIGH RETURN. From wide barriers, PROSPEROUS and MAKE IT were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. When being ridden along to obtain a forward position in the early stages, WIND DAMPER got its head on the side, hung in and bumped WEI HAI INVINCIBLE near the 1100 Metres. WEI HAI INVINCIBLE in turn shifted in, causing FAST INTENTIONS to be hampered. After this, WIND DAMPER travelled wide and without cover. For some distance approaching the 400 Metres, SUPER GENERAL raced tight inside SAMMY’S FALCON and close to the heels of MULTIPROUD. Shortly after straightening, FAST INTENTIONS was steadied away from the heels of SAMMY’S FALCON which shifted to the outside of WEI HAI INVINCIBLE to obtain clear running. In the early part of the Straight, SUPER GENERAL got its head on the side and lay in. Near the 150 Metres, PROSPEROUS was momentarily steadied when racing tight between MAKE IT and SAMMY’S FALCON which shifted out. Over the final 100 Metres, MULTIPROUD (M Chadwick) was not able to obtain clear running behind TOUT VA BIEN and BEAUTIFUL DREAMER. Because of this, MULTIPROUD was not fully tested over the concluding stages. After the race, M Chadwick expressed concern over the horse’s action. A veterinary inspection of MULTIPROUD after the race did not show any significant findings. Near the 50 Metres, the whip of O Doleuze (SAMMY’S FALCON) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of B Doyle (MAKE IT). A veterinary inspection of DANEWIN TIGER after the race did not show any significant findings. HIGH RETURN, MAKE IT and SAMMY’S FALCON were sent for sampling.
