TRAVEL PRINCE was withdrawn on 12.5.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter THE KID. POLYGOLD was withdrawn on 13.5.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of mucopus in trachea on scoping after track work) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter SUCCESSFUL ERA (Z Purton). Before being allowed to race again, TRAVEL PRINCE and POLYGOLD will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUCCESSFUL ERA proved difficult to load. As SUCCESSFUL ERA had been barred previously for a similar occurrence, the horse will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial before being allowed to race again. After being loaded, METRO RIDER became fractious and reared on a number of occasions. Before being allowed to race again, METRO RIDER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. OUTTALIMITZ began awkwardly. CLOVIS knuckled over at the start and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. FIERCE FORCE was checked at the start when crowded for room between WAIT FOR ME and MUSTANG which shifted in after beginning awkwardly. GREAT FANTASY and FULL HOUSE were slow to begin. Making the first turn after the 850 Metres, GLITTERING got its head up, proved difficult to settle and shifted out. Near the 300 Metres, FULL HOUSE shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of WAIT FOR ME on a number of occasions, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Also near the 300 Metres, THE KID had difficulty obtaining clear running. MUSTANG and HEY HA MASTER were sent for sampling.
