After being loaded, YOUNG SUPREME became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, YOUNG SUPREME will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. NEWSWIRE TOO began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, WHITE DRAGON was crowded for room between INFALLIBLE CHOICE and MAGIC KING, both of which shifted ground. From the outside barrier, SEIZE THE DAY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Approaching the 600 Metres, MOUNT SURPLUS was eased away from the heels of MAGIC KING. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, NEWSWIRE TOO and SEIZE THE DAY bumped. After this, NEWSWIRE TOO raced in restricted room inside SEIZE THE DAY which got its head on the side and shifted in. Over the final 200 Metres, MOUNT SURPLUS was held up for clear running and as a consequence was not able to be tested. A veterinary inspection of YOUNG SUPREME after the race did not show any significant findings. MAGIC KING and VINSANTO were sent for sampling.
