Steward Report Predict Pace Map
At declaration time, G Mossé was declared as the rider of both ROCK’N TYPHOON and WIN A DOZEN. It was established that G Mossé had a firm commitment to ride WIN A DOZEN. As such, the Stewards permitted Z Purton to be substituted as the rider of ROCK’N TYPHOON. For this declaration error, Trainer P O’Sullivan was fined $2,000. RECORD HIGH began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SHANGHAI PIONEER. MOUNT VICTORY, GENERAL SMILE and HAPPY EAGLE were slow to begin. From a wide barrier, MAN OF THE MATCH was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 900 Metres, ROCK’N TYPHOON was checked away from the heels of HARSH BROWN. Rounding the Home Turn, HARSH BROWN became unbalanced when bumped by GO LEGEND GO. After the 400 Metres, GO LEGEND GO broke down and was retired from the event. A veterinary inspection of GO LEGEND GO after the race revealed the horse had sustained a fracture to the left hind fetlock. In the Straight, MAN OF THE MATCH lay in under pressure. Also in the Straight, SHANGHAI PIONEER lay in. Throughout the race, HARSH BROWN travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GENERAL SMILE had bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of SHOWTIME and ROCK’N TYPHOON after the race did not show any significant findings. LOMBARDI and WIN A DOZEN were sent for sampling.
