GOOD BOY BOY, which was fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly. BRILLIANT CHARIOT and HONOUR LIST were slow to begin. COUNTRY MAGIC began awkwardly. For some distance approaching and passing the 600 Metres, FORTUNE TOGETHER was steadied away from the heels of DREAM HORSE. Rounding the Home Turn, HAPPY FOREVER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HONOUR LIST. Also rounding the Home Turn, SNITZEL KID, which was improving its position, was checked when crowded for room between COUNTRY MAGIC and HINYUEN PALADIN (C W Wong) which, after initially being taken out by GOOD BOY BOY, shifted back in slightly. C W Wong was advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in future. Passing the 200 Metres, TOMODACHI was steadied away from the heels of YOUNG SUPREME (N Callan) which shifted out. N Callan was advised to ensure that he makes every effort to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. Throughout the race, HINYUEN PALADIN travelled wide and without cover. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of N Callan over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit. A veterinary inspection of HINYUEN PALADIN after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPREME TAIJI and GOOD BOY BOY were sent for sampling.
