HOLD HANDS began awkwardly and shortly after the start knuckled over. HOLD HANDS then shifted out and made heavy contact with the hindquarters of CLASSA, causing that horse to become unbalanced, shift out and bump GOOD GAINS which itself began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped REGENCY KINGDOM. VILASOL began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped FAT DRAGON. A short distance later, VILASOL was steadied when crowded for room between FAT DRAGON and SUPER CARDED which shifted in. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, FAT DRAGON failed to muster speed. Passing the 1100 Metres, SUPER CARDED, which was proving difficult to settle, was checked away from the heels of YOUNG HERO. For some distance approaching the 400 Metres, HOLIDAY SUN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of REGENCY KINGDOM which at this stage was giving ground. Then passing the 400 Metres, HOLIDAY SUN was checked away from the heels of REGENCY KINGDOM and shifted out, resulting in FORTUNE HAVEN being checked when crowded for room inside FAT DRAGON. Throughout the race, YOUNG HERO travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of YOUNG HERO after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of REGENCY KINGDOM after the race showed that the horse had bled from both nostrils. JUGGERNAUT and HOLD HANDS were sent for sampling.
