COVER BOY was slow to begin. PURE ALPHA and BRAVO HORSE began awkwardly. At the 1200 Metres, RAINBOW STAR jumped a mark on the track. For some distance approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, FUJIAN PRINCE got its head up when being checked away from the heels of SO PRETTY SO SMART, then passing the 900 Metres shifted out when being again checked away from the heels of SO PRETTY SO SMART, resulting in PURE ALPHA being taken wider. After this, FUJIAN PRINCE raced wide and without cover and passing the 700 Metres was bumped by SO PRETTY SO SMART which shifted out. PURE ALPHA, which was racing to the outside of FUJIAN PRINCE, was steadied in consequence. Approaching the 300 Metres, COVER BOY was steadied when crowded for room inside BRAVO HORSE (Apprentice T H So) which shifted in and then passing the 200 Metres LITTLE BIG BOY was also steadied when crowded for room between NOBLE TWINS which was taken out slightly by RAINBOW STAR and BRAVO HORSE which shifted in. Apprentice So was advised to ensure he does his best to prevent his mounts from shifting ground when not clear of other runners. At the 300 Metres, Apprentice K C Leung (FUJIAN PRINCE) dropped his whip. LIVERBIRD and LITTLE BIG BOY were sent for sampling.
