As the start was effected, JUNGLE TREASURE became fractious and as a consequence began awkwardly and lost a considerable amount of ground. Shortly after the start, SPLENDID SAILS and FORTUNE PUG bumped. MY MELODY took time to muster in the early stages and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Near the 250 Metres, LEAD THE PROSPECTS was steadied when awkwardly placed between MY MELODY and DIVINE KID. Over the final 200 Metres, MY GOAL hung in. Near the finish line, SPLENDID SAILS was checked when crowded for room between WINBO which shifted out slightly and MY GOAL (Y T Cheng) which shifted in while hanging when not properly clear of SPLENDID SAILS. Y T Cheng was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstance he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. REGENCY KINGDOM was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of REGENCY KINGDOM after the race did not show any significant findings. HUSSLER, MY GOAL and WINBO were sent for sampling.
